SAM
is a stepper motor robot. Stepper motors turn in small increments
called "steps". The calculator programs SAMGOST and
SAMPIVST allow the user to tell the motors how many “clicks”
or steps to make. Students will soon realize that it would be
more practical for the programs to allow them to input a distance
in inches or centimeters. To do this, a function will be needed
to convert distance D into steps S. In the end students will be
challenged to program SAM to follow a path and park in his garage!
