Building a Servo Pointer

 

A servomotor pointer is inexpensive, convenient way to control the direction of a flashlight or other device. The precision should be accurate to within 2 or 3 degrees and cover a range from about -70 to +70.

Parts Required:

1 Battery holder, 4 AA
4 Batteries, alkaline, AA
1 Lucite mounting plate, 2.5" x 8"
1 Surface mount phone jack, 6 cond.
6 Rubber feet
1 Digital output cord
1 Modular phone connector, 6 cond, RJ 12
Servo motor with horn
Foam mounting tape
